What is the Lola Rose philosophy?
When I created Lola Rose I wanted to create real jewellery at affordable prices, therefore, ‘affordable luxury’ is my philosophy.

From who or what do you take your inspiration?
Originally it was my grandmother’s style, which was bold with splashes of colour – now when I am designing, it can be anything: flowers, travel even food can set me off. The best and the worst thing about being a designer is that there is no end to what you can do, so a notepad by the bed is my best friend.

What’s the thinking behind the name Lola Rose? 
It was my grandmother’s name – she was very glamorous and had a fantastic jewellery collection.

How did you get into designing jewellery?
Almost by accident – a close friend bought me a very expensive bracelet for my birthday and I thought that it didn’t look that complicated so I decided to buy some beads and have a play. I was wrong, it was complicated! However I enjoyed the creative process so much that I decided to try my hand at a jewellery design of my own.

Does Lola Rose jewellery appeal to a certain kind of woman?
Well our customers range from 18-80. I think that what they have in common is a certain joie de vivre – Lola Rose jewellery is quite a statement and appeals to those with a strong sense of style.

What makes Lola Rose jewellery perfect for summer?
Colour! I adore colour – it makes me feel happy and energised. The stones that we use can make a simple summer dress look really glamorous. Even a white
t-shirt and jeans can look really special with the right bracelet or necklace.

Is Lola Rose jewellery more something to treat yourself to or buy as a gift?
Oh both, definitely. I am very much in favour of treating yourself or your best friend/loved one. If you have something to celebrate or are feeling a little down, Lola Rose jewellery, I hope, will make a difference. The stones are millions of years old and totally unique so you have something to cherish as well. As far as gifts are concerned – our heart friendship bracelets are great, because they fit all size wrists and are suitable for women and girls of all ages.  It’s such a lovely introduction to the Lola Rose collection.

How do you want the finished design to make women feel when wearing it? Glamorous and happy – I receive letters from women telling me how a piece of our jewellery made them feel special when wearing it out, or how many compliments they receive when wearing it. It means the world, as the jewellery did what I set out to achieve. Go Shop!
